How we operate...
The Dandelion ethos is captured in our four core values, which will give you a high-level view of what most motivates and drives us in all that we do. If you engage us to help you and your leaders, this is how we will empower you to go further for Jesus!
1. We Prioritize Disciple Making
“For I became your father in Christ Jesus through the gospel. I urge you, then, be imitators of me.”
(1 Corinthians 4:16-17 ESV)
This is what we live and breathe, day-in and day-out. For us, discipleship is apprenticeship, framed by relationships, experiences and information, as people learn to imitate what they see of Jesus in the people they are following.
Alex Absalom, who is a proven practitioner, helped us create the necessary framework for a healthy discipling culture in our rural church of 1,500 (plus). Alex laid a solid, practical, and easy to follow path for starting and leading Missional Communities in our surrounding towns and neighborhoods.
2. We Ignite Missional Innovation
“The Word became flesh and blood, and moved into the neighborhood. We saw the glory with our own eyes…”
(John 1:14 MSG)
Our God has gone ahead of us into the world, and so Jesus-followers are invited to join him in his mission to rescue, transform and renew both people and culture. Dandelion specializes in practical, simple, repeatable next steps that anyone can live out.
When it comes to missional disciple-making, Alex is not only a great thinker but a tremendous practitioner. Alex helped create a culture of missionality at RiverTree (a mulit-site church of more than 3,000 people), as well as launch more than 70 thriving mid-sized missional communities!
3. We Hunger For The Spirit’s Empowering
“You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses.”
(Acts 1:8 NIV)
Can you imagine even beginning to try to make disciples and live on mission under your own steam? Like you, we recognize our deep need for the presence of God, and prioritize growing ever closer to Jesus and letting His voice lead us in every situation.
With several decades of grass-roots experience, Alex is the real deal! He and his family live, eat and breathe missional living, but in a way that is so authenitic and enticing. He has the tremendous ability to create simple, clear processes, which enable a wide variety of churches to build missional disciple-making cultures.
4. We Love Being Highly Relational
“He who walks with wise men will be wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm.”
(Proverbs 13:20 NASB)
We have no interest in doing hit-and-run information downloads on unsuspecting churches! Instead, we are called to build friendships with key strategic leaders, so that together we can partner to grow the Kingdom over extended periods of time.
Alex has been a tremendous encouragement to many of the missional leaders in our conference of churches! His vivacious personality, heart of a practitioner and his apostolic anointing to encourage new initiatives has spurred us on to dream new dreams and engage our missional imaginations in new ways.
