INTERVIEW: Living a Naturally Supernatural Life

WELCOME to Issue #182 of The Seedhead from Alex and Hannah at Dandelion Resourcing - a weekly confidence booster to help you step into naturally supernatural discipleship and mission!

Sharing your faith is ALWAYS meant to be done in the power of the Spirit!

The empowering of the Spirit is not to be kept just for ourselves as believers. Instead, it is something that is especially intended to supercharge our evangelism and mission to the world.

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” (Acts 1:8)

The Holy Spirit empowers Christians to be effective witnesses for Jesus Christ. This includes the release of miraculous powers, so that we can demonstrate the Kingdom of God as well as declare it.

Ours is not just a message of a theoretical heavenly future, but rather it is an embodied manifestation of eternity bursting the seams of the present day.

Notice how, when seeking to reach Cornelius and his household, Peter summarizes the ministry of Jesus in terms of miraculous power. “God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and... he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him.” (Acts 10:38)

He of course then goes on to talk of the cross and resurrection as the basis for salvation (v.39-41), but in this succinct summary of the Gospel in an evangelistic context, Peter is intentional to include the dunamis dynamite-power aspect.

This Spirit-empowering not only enables us to demonstrate the Kingdom, but also to speak of it.

And for most of us, the key here is having a little help to open our mouths and speak! He gives us the boldness to testify of the Lord Jesus Christ in situations where we would normally be fearful or timid.

As Paul reminds anxious Timothy, who clearly didn’t especially enjoy sharing his faith, “For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.” (2 Timothy 1:7).

God’s dynamite power can turn even the most nervy person into someone who shares with clarity, confidence, and impact.

This video will give you a bunch more encouragement and inspiration in this area.
