WELCOME to The Seedhead from Alex and Hannah at Dandelion Resourcing -

supernatural discipleship and mission!

In issue #166 of The Seedhead we’re thrilled to present Part 2 of an in-depth interview with Ralph Moore, one of the leaders in the Jesus Movement in the late 60s/ early 70s. Amongst his insights this time, hear which parts of the movie “The Jesus Revolution” are accurate… and which less so!

Let’s dive in…

The movie “The Jesus Revolution” stunned the wider world by taking over $50 million at the box office, and is now ranking high on Netflix.

The film looks at the Jesus Movement of the late 1960s/ early 1970s, especially through the eyes of Chuck Smith, Lonnie Frisbee, and Greg Laurie.

It’s a great movie, and certainly a faith-stirring experience. I left the theater (1) crying, and (2) hungry to see a new move of God today, especially amongst the Gen Z generation of my children and their friends.

One of the on-the-ground leaders in the Jesus Movement was Ralph Moore, who went on to plant Hope Chapel, which in turn has mushroomed into at least 2,700 new churches and countless transformed lives. This means he’s a man of God we should listen to!

Graciously, Ralph has given us an extended interview on his experience of the Jesus Movement, both positive and disappointing, and his inside scoop on how it actually felt to be caught up in a reviving work of the Spirit.

In part 2 of this interview with Ralph, he talks about the accuracy of the movie “The Jesus Revolution”, how the very first Hope Chapel started, and then reflects on how he knew the revival had come to an end.

Here’s part 2 of the interview:

Reflect and Act

  • As you hear these stories, and perhaps watch the movie, how were you impacted spiritually and emotionally?

  • How will you live differently?

Let us know what you thought of this part of the interview. How are you being inspired or challenged?

Blessings,

Alex + Hannah
