Understanding Spiritual Gifts: The Gift of Healing… In Under 10 Minutes
WELCOME to Issue #202 of The Seedhead from Alex and Hannah at Dandelion Resourcing - a weekly confidence booster to help you step into naturally supernatural discipleship and mission!
The spiritual gift of healing is the ability to drive out a sickness in supernatural ways that are beyond any natural methodology.
There are so many examples of this gift in use throughout the New Testament!
The one we talk about in the video is from Matthew 9:27-30, where Jesus healed two blind men.
Our experience is that ALL believers can be used to heal the sick. We believe that this should be viewed as basic discipleship.
Never does the New Testament present healing the sick as something reserved for just a small group of elite, extra-holy believers! Instead the picture we’re shown is of all disciples being commissioned to go and heal the sick. It should be as basic as reading our Bibles, being part of a church community, and prayer.
Sadly the gift can be misused, and we must be careful not to promise what isn’t ours to give. However, that should not stop us from stepping into praying for the sick with boldness and faith.
Here’s the video:
Next Steps
When someone next tells you they are sick, offer to pray with them! Keep it short, simple, and full of faith.
When you pray, speak to the issue in the same that Jesus does, with authority and calm faith. “Pain be gone!” Do NOT pray a ‘If it be your will’ prayer.
