Discover who and how to disciple so that you nurture spiritual growth in others
Who are you intentionally discipling?
If you’re a follower of Jesus, this is the top task that He has left you here on earth to do!
YOU can disciple others this year! Do not disqualify yourself from this calling - according to Jesus, this is for every believer, even if you’re brand new to following Him. So prayerfully jump in, and trust that along the way the Spirit will mature and develop you in the skills you need.
If you’re taking that calling seriously, then it’s not honoring Christ to simply stumble into another year with no idea who you’ll be helping to hear and obey Jesus more readily, or what your plan is once you’ve identified them.
A few weeks ago we showed you how to do an annual review , and last week we gave you a plan for making an annual plan! Today, in this video, Alex gives you specifics on working out who you’ll be discipling in 2025…
Next Steps
Pray and ask the Holy Spirit to place a burden on your heart for the ones you are to be especially investing into at this time.
Now brainstorm a list of names of people who you could possibly disciple in 2025. Think about:
Lost people
Christians
The next generation
Invite your spouse/ accountability partner to do the same exercise, and then compare names. Allow your conversation to sharpen your focus.
How would you like to disciple them? e.g. individually or in groups, using a tool like Discovery Bible Study or something more freeform, what rhythm of meeting, etc.
Who will you approach first? Or who has approached you? How will you test the waters before committing (to overpromise and underdeliver is not godly)?
The treasure of discipling others is a wonderful gift!
YOU can play your part today and throughout this year - because if you’re committed to Christ and full of His Holy Spirit, He can use you to help others gain clarity on what He is saying to them, and to grow in faith as they try to obey.
