Podcast Interview: Naturally Supernatural Discipleship

Jeff Vanderstelt is someone you should know!

He and his family planted Soma in Tacoma WA in the early 2000s, a church that was built to be both scattered and gathered, especially through the strategic use of missional communities. Jesus greatly blessed the ministry, and over subsequent years Soma has grown into a multi-denominational family of churches.

Out of that experience, and in response to the increasing requests for his leadership and teaching, Jeff formed Saturate, which exists to serve and equip leaders to start and strengthen unified gospel city movements that lead to gospel saturation.

We personally know and love Jeff as a good friend, and hold him in the highest of regard. Jeff is the real deal, as well as being a delightful person to be with and to learn from!

As part of the ministry of Saturate, Jeff hosts a podcast, and he recently invited us onto it for an interview. We ended up having a great conversation around how the Holy Spirit should be central in all our discipleship efforts, and what this might look like in practice.

We’d love you to listen in - and honestly, it is a great podcast to subscribe to!

And here’s the official episode info:

Have you ever wondered why so much of our experience in discipleship and mission seems to lack the power of the Spirit? Have you read the accounts of Jesus’ ministry and the early Church and wondered why we don’t see the same supernatural works that seem very normative for the early followers of Jesus? Alex and Hannah Absalom are a wonderful gift to the church. They have given their lives to equipping everyday people to live naturally supernatural lives. During this episode, they share stories and principles on how to live supernaturally empowered lives in normal, everyday ways. You will be encouraged and equipped to step out into the work Jesus has had in store for you all along.
